We only have a +4 to hit and the damage is a measly 1d4+1 Step 8 (optional) Finnally, we can see this is different from our club which uses strength instead. Our new weapon is the same, except it also deals 1d6 necrotic damage. The spell Shillelagh indicates we should see +7 to hit and the attack should deal 1d8+4 bludgeoning damage. We can also see that everything has been applied correctly. Once it’s equipped it will show up under attack along with everything else. Next start type in the name that you gave to your new item. The reason is our new item is a non-magical flail and druids are not proficient with flails. So, go to the home tab of your character and make sure “Homebrew Content” is turned on Now that we’ve created the item we need to add it to our character. Hit save changes one more time and your item is now complete. Once you put in all of the modifiers you should see something like this. So we will add this property to the weapon. A club is a light weapon, just for completeness we will go ahead and add this weapon property back in.įinally, the ability Symbiotic Entity makes our weapon deal an extra d6 necrotic damage on a hit. Since we have a druid I’ve applied wisdom instead of strength. Next we are supposed to use our casting stat instead of strength for hit and damage.

Hit save once you’ve added all of the necessary details for each modifier. This is because druids do not normally have proficiency with flails. First we need to apply our proficiency bonus to attacks. We need to add some modifiers to the weapon so that everything is accounted for correctly. Shillelagh does the following: The wood of a club or quarterstaff you are holding is imbued with nature’s power. The easiest method I’ve found to get things to work is to create a magic weapon that represents a club (or quarterstaff) that has been enchanted with Shillelagh and is being wielded by a circle of spores druid that has Symbiotic Entity active on them. It is my hope that eventually the spell will interact with weapons the same way the wizard spell Booming Blade does. It’s worth noting that at the time of this article Shillelagh does not interact with weapons the druid is carrying.
